Continuing our multi-phase, multi-million-pound project at Sedley Place, Oxford Street, we’re pleased to have successfully delivered the next phase of works: the complete demolition and strip out of the existing Boots Hearingcare facility, followed by the construction of a new ‘World of Hearing’ environment.
This stage transformed the existing footprint into a modern hearing care facility aligned with the latest Boots World of Hearing design specifications, including the delivery of:
- New consultation rooms, fully fitted out to current WoH standards
- Dedicated experience room
- New reception and waiting areas
- Branded customer journey and display features, including a Journey Wall and Impress Wall
- Full electrical design and installation package, including DALI lighting controls, BMS integration, fire alarm systems, CAT5e infrastructure, and new power/data installations
In addition, former retail space on the second floor was repurposed to create new back-of-house facilities for the wider Boots UK store, including offices, welfare areas, toilets, a faith room, and staff canteen facilities.
Working within a live environment presented significant challenges, with active retail operations continuing below the works and corporate office functions remaining operational above. Careful planning, close collaboration, phased delivery, and flexible working arrangements enabled the team to successfully maintain programme milestones throughout.
Delivered over a 13-week phased programme, the works were completed in line with project requirements, demonstrating the team’s ability to deliver complex refurbishment projects within operational environments.
We would like to thank Stuart Abbott, Underwood & Carpenter, Jamie Croll, Dave McGinnis and WCA Architects for their valued collaboration in the successful delivery of this phase of the project.
